Centro Mujeres firmly believes in the value of sharing experiences and philosphies with sister organizations. We have helped create and participate in many human rights and gender networks to ensure the voices of our community are reflected in policies and human rights assessments. As part of our sustainable policy practices, Centro Mujeres:

Locally

  • Represents the social sector on Citizen’s Advisory Board of the State Secretariat of Environment and Natural Resources
  • Petitioned the state to create an Advisory Board for the State Women’s Institute, and has been a member since 1999
  • Is on the advisory board for the La Paz County Institute for Women
  • Developed the Leadership Training Institute on Gender, Reproductive Health and Population Issues for men and women from governmental and non-governmental organizations, many of whom have since achieved important local government positions

Regionally

  • Regularly partners with sister NGOs in Sinaloa, Sonora, Baja California Norte and Baja California Sur, sharing referrals, training and technical support
  • Coordinates with groups working in the Northwest region to conduct regional health campaigns on the reproductive and sexual rights of young people

Nationally

  • Is a representative of Citizens Feminist Network of Mexico (RECIFEM) the Mexican Federation of Sexual Education (FEMESS), and the national network of human rights civil organizations (Todos los Derechos para Todas y Todos)  advocacy network.
  • Is the social representative for the women’s sector at the National Coordination Committee for the National Plan to Implement the Stockholm Agreement on the Eradication of Organic Persistent Toxins

Internationally

  • Works regularly as part of the Latin American and Caribbean Women’s Health Network to monitor the status of women’s rights throughout the region and helped to organize the Latin American PrepCom for Cairo +10 and Beijing +1
  • Is a member of the Latin American and Caribbean Women’s Network for Popular Education (REPEM)
  • Has participated in the Global Forum for Health Research
