what we do

ProACI – Centro Mujeres A.C. was founded in 1994 in response to the increasing needs and human rights violations facing women and youth. Over the last two decades, Centro Mujeres has become a respected voice for women, youth, and seasonal migrants on a local, national, and international level.

Human Rights Advocacy →

Centro Mujeres is committed to fighting the systemic and often gendered denial of human rights in Baja California Sur and throughout Mexico.

Community Leadership →

Forming community resources as a first line of support for women and girls impacted by violence, discrimination, and human rights abuses.

Youth Radio →

Our program has proven to be a safe and open space for young people to create a dialog and engage with decision makers around human rights and opportunities.

Peer Learning →

Centro Mujeres works with young people to increase the respect and exercise of their health and human rights.

Professional Capacity Building →

We train policy makers and professionals in the health, legal and security sectors to increase their knowledge and capacity for action.

Preventative Education →
